This is an original press photo. Boling, Marion (Pat) (& Wife) (Captain) (Airline Pilot). Airline Captain Marion (Pat) Boling and Mrs. Boling check in with Northwest Orient Airlines agent Al Ridalphi at Seattle-Tacoma Airport for flight via NWA Sunday night to the Orient. Boling last summer made a Pacific flight in eastbound direction, solo piloting a single-engine plane nonstop from Manila to Pendleton, Oregon. He is returning to Manila as guests of the Philippine government during Philippine Aviation Week, December 14-20. He elected to utilize the same mileage and time-saving North Pacific great circle route as he flew by himself last summer—but in a much faster and more comfortable airplane, one of Northwest's daily trans-Pacific DC-7C's. The Bolings arrived from their home in California Sunday evening, and left about midnight for Tokyo.Photo measures 10 x 8.25inches. Photo is dated 4--1959.
