This is a quite rare vintage 35mm viewfinder camera
The model is the AkArelle, made by Apparate & Kamerabau in Friedrichshafen, Germany between 1954 and 1957
The AkArelle model was developed from the earlier AkArette II model
The camera takes interchangeable lenses and is supplied with a Schneider-Kreuznach Xenar 50mm 1:3.5 lens
This is the later version of the model, with a bright frame finder, with frame lines for 50mm and 90mm lenses
The camera is in working order, with just a couple of minor issues to mention; the camera has speeds from 1 to 1/300 second + B, the slow speeds, as often found on older cameras are not working, B and the faster speeds from 1/2 second are working; also the self timer is not working (so make sure it is not set on V). Everything else is working fine; it fires a flash via the sync socket; the focusing and aperture settings operate smoothly
The lens optics are clean, clear, with just some expected minor age related dust, with no scratches, haze or fungus present
The cosmetic condition is also good, there are some light marks on the base, where it has been attached to a tripod, but overall the camera is very clean, with minimal signs of use and the leatherette is intact and clean. The interior of the camera is also extremely clean
The camera is supplied in its original leather branded case, with signs of use and some stitching coming away on the back of the top panel, but still usable and protecting the camera well
A good quality well-built collectable and usable vintage Germany camera
