Stylish Good Quality Early Victorian Old Sheffield Plate Salver

Bright silver plate on heavy gauge copper the waiter has an exuberant, boldly conceived, cast shell and scroll piecrust border.
The Rococo theme carried into the centre with lively foliate motifs, skilfully executed & hand engraved.

Attention to detail such as chasing and added textural detail on the shells, leaves and feet
attests to the high quality of manufacture - although the piece is unmarked
as is often the case with Old Sheffield Plate.

In remarkable condition for its age - the plating mirror bright. with no copper bleed.
Perhaps the the occasional surface blemish as you would expect in a piece of this age.

A stylish addition to any plate collection!
