This is an original press photo. The Alcoa Home, "Casa Americana," at the 12th Triennale de Milano. Views showing front of home; left, interior of living room looking toward entrance and front steps. Right, exterior view, from opposite direction, looking through entrance into living room. Heavy aluminum tread plate used for steps at entrance was incorporated primarily to handle the heavy "traffic" during the home's exhibition at the Triennale. Roof of main area and walls employ Aluminum Company of America's "Alply" structural sandwich panel, comprising aluminum faces and foamed plastic core. House was designed for Alcoa by John I. Matthias.Photo measures 10 x 8inches. Photo is dated 10-31-1960.
