The Infantry Assault
Badge bronze version was established in 1940. It was given to motorized or
mechanized infantry soldiers who participated in combat action. The criteria for
the bronze badge required participation in three or more motorized infantry attacks, motorized
infantry counter-attacks or motorized armed reconnaissance operations or in
hand-to-hand combat in motorized assault positions or defensive operations of motorized
combat positions. This is a “hollow” (cut
out) version of the bronze award. It is
a fully-functional die-cast replica which is appropriate for wear by German WWII
veterans and Wehrmacht re-enactors. It
complies with the laws of the German Federal Republic (Bundesrepublik).
