Hans Walenkamp s'est formé à Tilburg avec Ru van Rossem et Jan Mensinga.
Il poursuit ses études graphiques dans "l'Atelier 17" parisien de Stanley Hayter.
De retour aux Pays-Bas,
il a été nommé professeur de graphisme et de design bidimensionnel aux cours de
professeur d'arts visuels à Tilburg.
Sa préférence était pour les techniques de
la taille douce, mais il pratiquait également l'impression en relief et
l'impression en surface.
Il a exposé en France,
en Angleterre et aux Pays-Bas.
Un séjour à Rome il y a une vingtaine
d'années l'avait inspiré pour la "Lettre Siesta": une chambre d'hôtel
après une longue journée de promenade dans la ville, où les volets fermés
filtrent la lumière du soleil sur le corps reposant et découvert de sa petite
amie. Dans sa main, une lettre qu'elle venait de ramasser au bureau de poste,
mais elle ne pu pas lire tant la chaleur languissante lui alourdisse les paupières.

Hans Walenkamp was trained in Tilburg by Ru van Rossem and Jan Mensinga.
He continued his graphic studies in Stanley Hayter's "Atelier 17" in Paris.
Returning to the Netherlands, he was appointed professor of
two-dimensional graphics and design in the Visual Arts teacher course in Tilburg.
His preference was for intaglio techniques, but he also practiced relief printing and surface printing.
He has exhibited in France, England and the Netherlands.
A stay in Rome twenty years ago had inspired him for the "Siesta Letter": "a hotel room after a long day of walking in the
city, where the shutters closed filter the sunlight on the body resting and uncovered from his girlfriend. In her hand, a letter she had just picked up at
the post office, but she could not read as the languid heat weighed down her eyelids".
He was part of the Tilburg Arts Academy
