Biographie : Né le 23 août 1921 au château de Rouzat dans le Puy-de-Dôme. Il est petit-fils du compositeur André MESSAGER et fils de Jacques-Henri LARTIGUE (peintre-photographe). Peintre autodidacte, il commence à peindre à l'age de 17 ans, aidé par son milieu familial d'artistes et de sa rencontre avec Bonnard. C'est en 1941 qu'il réalise sa première exposition à Lyon. Vivant dans le Midi (Saint-Tropez à nos jours), il est inspiré par les couleurs et son environnement. "Très marquée par la lumière et le bonheur de vivre du midi, sa peinture s'accommode avec humour d'une certaine innocence et s'exprime le plus pleinement quant elle vante la chair satinée des belles filles-plantes; le bonheur des paysages ensoleillés, la gaieté d'enfants aux yeux étonnés, la paix simple de sa rue à Montmartre.""
