Pictured here at auction is the Heathkit SB-220, an HF,  80-10 meters ham/amateur radio linear amplifier that uses two 3-500Z tubes in a grounded grid configuration. I have tested it recently and with 60 watts input saw approximately 600 watts output. It is considered a full legal-limit amplifier, though I never pushed it beyond 60 watts drive. It is currently wired for use with 220 VAC.

A previous owner advised the user with a label-maker label on the front that read "TO GO FROM 15 TO 20, GO TO 80 AND BACK". I never ran the amplifier on 15 meters, so I never had to do this anyway. I did apply tuner cleaner to the bandswitch but made no other attempts or tests to alleviate this possible problem. The label has been carefully removed so as not to damage the paint.

Cosmetically, the amplifier has some scuffs in the paint that I attempted to capture in some of the photos.

I do not ship to addresses or locations outside the United States.

Shipping estimate based on a very large and heavy box at 59 pounds total. It is a heavy unit. I will use separate boxes for the tubes and the amplifier. I will take the unit to UPS where it will be professionally packaged and guaranteed to be shipped safely.
