Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of fluorite with calcite from the famed Denton Mine in Illinois!!! This specimen consists of a group of sharp, glassy crystals of fluorite
that exhibit an attractive comination of deep yellow and purple colors, accented by a complex, scalenohedral calcite crystal!!! The fluorite crystals exhibit sharp cubic forms
with razor-sharp features and brilliant, glassy luster!!! There are some scattered areas of darkly colored bitumen in some recesses and there are some characteristic
surface features from once intergrown blebs of bitumen!!! Upon close study there are a few tiny inclusions of chalcopyrite as well!!! The main crystal's corner exhibits
complex, trisoctahedral modifications with a small bitumen divit (all natural features, not damage)!!! The calcite crystal exhibits sharp, glassy faces with
marked transluence!!! The calcite exhibits a scalenohedral habit with a curious, slightly sceptered, modified termination!! The bottom of the specimen is
complexly etched and the specimen displays magnificently in person!!! This specimen is in outstanding condition all around!!! Classic material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
