PAUL McCARTNEY & WINGS / ONE HAND CLAPPING(Standard Edition)

Description

``ONE HAND CLAPPING'' is a documentary made in 1975 that includes tour rehearsals filmed in 1974. In the summer of 1973, when WINGS' activities seemed to be progressing smoothly, Henry McCraw and Denny Sewell withdrew one after another, but they overcame this and completed the masterpiece album ``BAND ON THE RUN'' (released at the end of 1973). WINGS, led by Paul, resumed activities in 1974 with the addition of two new members, Jimmy McCulloch and Jeff Britton. After recording in Nashville (such as "Junior's Farm" and "Sally G"), he will be touring and rehearsing at London's EMI Studio (Abbey Road Studio) from early fall. This was filmed and recorded in the documentary "ONE HAND CLAPPING" which is included in this work. As you can see from WINGSPAN in 2001, Paul has been recording a variety of material since the formation of WINGS, but this tendency was especially noticeable during this period with WINGS's first world tour in mind, and before the tour, Paul recorded various materials. ONE HAND CLAPPING," "WINGS OVER THE WORLD," which follows WINGS from its formation to the end of their world tour, and "ROCK SHOW," a live work from their North American tour, creating a work that can be called a trilogy. ``ONE HAND CLAPPING'' is a wonderful work that allows you to fully feel the charm of the new lineup, which plays songs with live performance in mind, with sophisticated performances compared to the previous members. The spotlight is also on the two new members, and the guitar playing of Jimmy McCulloch (who was only 21 years old at the time), who Paul still gives high praise to in later years, is a new addition to WINGS. I can see that it has become very attractive. In addition to the scene where Jimmy plays the drums, you can also enjoy the performance scene of drummer Jeff Britton, who has not held formal concerts except for TV live performances, and you can also see the karate pattern performed by him who knows karate. can. One of the points of this work is that in the scene where Paul plays the piano, you can enjoy complete versions of unreleased songs such as “Suicide” and “Let’s Love” with videos. You can enjoy Paul starting to perform with the recording members of "Junior's Farm" and playing lively after making a fresh start with new members. In the scene of "Nineteen Hundred And Eighty Five", which had never been played on a live stage, the scene goes from a scene where Paul sings alone with the piano accompaniment to a karaoke state where Paul sings while smoking a cigarette with a hand microphone. Switching to the performance, the vocal performance with many improvisations here is amazing!!! The image quality is slightly inferior to that used in parts in WINGSPAN, but it is recorded in the best image quality at the moment.
