An imagery collection of colorfully designed picture envelopes, picture postcard packages, and bookmarks that were released from the Taisho era to the early Showa era. The Taisho era was a time when the idea of democracy was widely spread, and free drawing was called for in children's book education, and this wave also spread widely in the design world. During the Taisho and Showa periods, the main role of conveying information to the masses was through printed matter such as magazines, newspapers, and books, which were published in large quantities. At that time, the penetration rate of telephones in ordinary households was low, and correspondence was the main means of communication. This was a time when young women in particular felt romantic about writing letters. Correspondence was especially popular among female students, and stationery, picture envelopes, postcards, and bookmarks were created specifically for them. Famous painters such as Yumeji Takehisa, Kasei Takabatake, and Kouji Fukutani also have their hands in the designs. Recently known designers include Kaichi Kobayashi and Haruka Takahashi.
