The American Flyer Pocahontas Standard Gauge Set is a model train set made of steel and powered by AC. The set includes a locomotive, tender, and three passenger cars, all in a vibrant yellow color. The brand is American Flyer and it was manufactured in America. The gauge is Lionel Standard Gauge.

This set was purchased from the spouse of the original owner. It was last used in 1970’s but well maintained as a shelf piece for 50 years or more. Spouse recalls fondly it being the feature item on a very large Christmas display.

This gigantic Shasta Locomotive is impressive!

We tried to get every angle and perspective in the pictures. If we missed something, please write us back and we’ll add five more! The engine was bench tested and operated in forward and reverse as it should. The bell clanged loudly (actually scared me at first). It’s needs a better cleaning than I am willing to give it.

All original except for what appears to be a replacement buffer on one of the coach pick-ups. Interior lights were not tested. One bulb in engine does not operate. I did not feel confident in attempting to remove it. I believe it is bayonets but not sure.
