This is Oliver Statler's landmark 1961 work "Japanese Inn," being a history of Japan from roughly 1596-1957, shown through the point-of-view of the people who ran a real-life inn that has existed approximately that long, the Minaguchi-ya, an ancient inn on the Hokaido Road in Japan.

This is the Pyramid Books first edition, third printing, from 1967. It is in good to very good vintage condition with minor cover tanning and damage as shown.
