SEALED OOP Grenadier 1003 25mm Traveller Alien Boxed Set (11 figures)

Sealed This auction is for the sealed (still sealed in plastic) boxed miniatures set shown. The 3rd picture displays the contents of a second, open set. They're decent figures but I wound up with an extra (i.e. beyond the three sets I have found I truly need) box of 'em back in the day, so here they are! The set includes:
  • 1 ea T25 Tree Kraken (top row, left, 2nd and 3rd pictures)
  • 1 ea T26 Sea Bear (top row, 2nd from left, 2nd and 3rd pictures)
  • 1 ea T27 Crested Jabberwock (top row, center, 2nd and 3rd pictures)
  • 1 ea T28 Bloodvark (top row, 4th from left, 2nd and 3rd pictures)
  • 1 ea T29 Bloodvark Guard (top row, right, 2nd and 3rd pictures)
  • 1 ea T30 Daghshark with separate flying stand (2nd row, left, 2nd and 3rd pictures)
  • 1 ea T31 Grass Dog (2nd row, right, 2nd and 3rd pictures)
  • 1 ea T32 Gratheudom (bottom center, 2nd and 3rd pictures)
  • 1 ea T33 Kian (riding mount, 3rd row, left, 2nd and 3rd pictures)
  • 1 ea T34 Bush Runner (3rd row, right, 2nd and 3rd pictures)
  • 1 ea T35 Kian Rider (rider, 3rd row, left, 2nd and 3rd pictures)
  • 1 ea cardstock storage box with compartmented foam insert (typical Grenadier 1980s box and insert)
  • 1 ea description sheet - on the box back (2nd picture, also shown in 3rd picture on the right side)
  • 1 ea Big Game Hunter Traveller scenario (3rd picture, left side). Buyer note, however: I have three more sets of these guys (not for sale) and two have the Traveller scenario but one of them has a Cthulhu scenario (from their Cthulhu Investigators boxed set). If you wind up with the wrong insert in this set, let me know and I will send you a PDF of the Big Game Hunter scenario sheet.
John Dennett did the design work and these fellows are up to his usual standards, with lots of paintable detail and good animation. What is, in my opinion, best, is that none of them look silly! The Grass Dog looks like a chaser hunter, but not quite what you'd see here on Earth. The Bush Runner looks vaguely like a small Velocirapter - but not as it evolved on Earth. And so on. Any of these guys would fit right into your Traveller game as an encounter for your IISS party way outside the Imperial frontiers, as an escapee from a zoo or safari ship, or as any number of other situations you can come up with. Their detailing is slightly accented, as Grenadier miniatures were back in the '80s when drybrushing became the rage but however you paint them, they'll take paint well and look convincing when you're finished. The package is in new condition and this set's lived its entire 41 year life in a smokefree environment. Buy 'em and put paint on 'em!
