1935 Press Photo Senator James Pope and Ray Atherton of U.S. embassy in London

This is an original press photo. Senator James P. Pope - A point of view is being acquired by Senator Pope of Idaho, who apparently hopes to rival his colleague, Senator Borah, as an expert on international affairs. Pope has been abroad for some time, and is seen here (left) with Ray Atherton of the United States embassy in London. The Idaho senator has said a number of things, in interviews, to which other senators have taken exception. For one thing, he has predicted the United States will enter the League of Nations. Which goes to show that tho he may know Europe, he doesn't know Idaho and other American states, if he thinks that.Photo measures 8 x 9.5inches. Photo is dated 9-3-1935.

Part Number: lra38252
