Antique Bayon Style Bronze Mounted Khmer Buddha Head 26cm X 10cm -

Good remnants of 24ct Gold remain

Weight is 1.354 kg & in good overall condition.

Bronze is In an un polished original condition and has no magnetic hold  and  is professionally mounted on a 1970s Teak wooden plinth.


An antique Thai style Buddha head in the design of the Rattanakosin period. 


The Buddha has a peaceful countenance with downcast eyes and a firm brow. Has a ushnisha protuberance on top of his head, symbolizing a high level of spiritual development.


Earlobes are stretched long from a youth spent as a prince wearing heavy gold earrings and intact .


Beautiful thatching work to the back of the hair and across the crown.


The casting is in solid bronze and in   general is beautiful as you can see within the fine details of the face.


Each detail is rendered perfectly. The distinctive patina of the piece is also evident
