I have owned this incredible Jazzmaster since 1992, 1963 L-Series Alder Body that has had quite a journey with a great history and provenance. This is a PLAYER's guitar, if you are after a collectors piece, please look elsewhere.

I bought this as a refin in '92, the neck and body had been refinished, though it still had the original decal, it had been re-wired, but still retained the original pickups and neck/independent circuit. I had the neck off for the first time in 2006 to confirm it's age, etc. It had an old pickguard, but it looked to be non-original. Pots/Caps were non-original.

It is an incredible guitar that I have cherised for over 30 years, it sounds and feels exactly how you might expect an old Pre-CBS Jazzmaster would - amazing. It has had several changes in my ownership, it was re-fretted by a well known luthier/Masterbuilder at the Fender Custom Shop. It has had its neck pickup re-wound by Abigail Ybarra. It has had a Pre-CBS Mustang bridge installed. It has been modified to have no upper circuit, just one 3-way toggle switch and one 50K volume pot - you can dial back the tone by simply reducing the volume. It has a humbucker that resembles a soapbar pickup in the bridge position. Purists look away, this has had sensible mods that make it a killer sounding electric guitar with all the Jazzmaster quirks fixed. There are a few dings on the body that you might expect, and the re-finish on the neck is gradually delaminating.

Please feel free to ask questions.
