I've owned this guitar for about 20 years after its previous owner had significantly restored it back to it's original spec by respected Luthier Ray Cooper (sadly now passed away). It is a Player grade guitar - some might call it a barn find.

At the heart of it - this is a 1955 Les Paul Junior - it is incredibly light original mahogany from Honduras presumably. It has the original p-90 pickup. It has led the life of well-played instrument (there's a reason why the mint ones are mint y'know) with some provenance and just sounds killer.

This is my part of it's history - I bought it from a respected player who had had it restored by a great Luthier. The guitar had had a headstock break, as well as being 'converted' to a Les Paul Special at some point previous to 2006. It was restored back to spec which meant a mahogany veneer had been used front and back and had a headstock repair. The decal is clearly not original and the serial number was also 'lost' during the repair. I also had a re-fret. The guts of it though are a 1955 Les Paul Junior. I appreciate that many people may think all this is BS - my response to them - just play it, inspect it, smell it, touch it, feel it and judge for yourself. It is a KILLER sounding and playing guitar. It has a well fitting hard case that I believe may be a Guild.

However, because it has led an interesting life - it also also extremely affordable. An original condition is ten grand. A Custom Shop is around 3.5K to 4K. The sustain is just unbelievable. The job Ray Copper did on the restoration is superlative.
