This acoustic is hands-down the BEST recording guitar I've ever owned - particularly for Singers and Singer/Songwriters. The delicate balance of recording voice and guitar simultaneously is not easy - boomy low end and balance can be tricky - this guitar solves ALL of those problems. Whether it's the body size, construction, or just magic vibe - the balance of this guitar when going straight into a large diaphragm condenser mic and recording vocals and guitar at the same time is PERFECT. Without any frequency adjustments, roll-off or pass-filters this guitar just records so perfectly.

I can't be the only one to observe this because Clapton and his band used this EXACT guitar a lot back in the unplugged era. Check out lot-1525982 from the 24th June 1999 auction at Christies where this exact same model sold for USD 24,150 after an estimate of 3000-5000 USD. According to Lee Dickson this model of guitar was generally used by Andy Fairweather Low when playing with Eric Clapton's band.

A 1985 Martin Shenandoah 000-2832 in natural finish, rosewood body, spruce top, mahogany neck, twenty fret rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays, headstock face with floral motif inlay, ebony pin bridge, imitation tortoise-shell pickguard and fitted undersaddle pickup with jack input at base of body; and a black hardshell contour case with red plush lining.
