Available now at RMC Miami, this iconic 1980’s Mercedes-Benz 500SL KOENIG SPECIALS, finished in white over original Signal Red leather interior.

 

Delivered new in Southern Germany in 1983, was reportedly sent immediately to Willy Koenig in Munich to receive the complete Koenig Specials widebody treatment.  Car stayed in Europe until 2021 where was imported to Florida and remained under its first American care taker.

 

Authentic Koenig Specials equipment includes:

-       KS Widebody with wider Rear Arches displaying Testarossa style louvers

-       KS Widebody Side Skirts

-       KS one piece front and rear Bumpers

-       KS Decklid wing

-       KS Aero mirrors

-       KS front flared arches

-       KS Steering wheel

-       KS three-piece mesh wheels by BBS with Countach sized 345/35-15 Pirellis in the rear

 

Factory leather Signal Red interior looks amazing and highly original.  Door panels and straight, dashboard free of cracks or warping and it’s adorned by white piping, nicely complementing the coachwork.  Interior is also upgraded by a Koenig Italvolanti steering wheel and a custom cluster. 

 

Body is highly original to its Koenig application, showing in good condition for its age.  White paint looks to be period, showing some weathering around the extended arches on the composite material.  

 

Upon arrival to the US, it received a fuel system service, drivetrain check up and general inspection.  Undercarriage is clean and in very good condition.  Sought after 5.0 liter M117 alloy engine supplies power to the 722, three speed transmission evenly and without slippage at the moment of listing.
