After the 2016 Silver medal that sold out at the U.S. Mint, the 2017 Liberty medal is was as well. Issued to celebrate 225th year anniversary of the Mint, this set of 4 Silver medals match the 2017-W American Liberty Gold Proof $100 coin, with the same design. The set has a contemporary Lady Liberty on each of the four 1 oz Silver medals, each one with a different finish and from a different branch of the US Mint - Philadelphia (Reverse Proof), Denver (Uncirculated), San Francisco (Proof), and West Point (Enhanced Uncirculated). 

Highlights Include:
Each Medal contains 1 oz of .999 fine Silver finished  in Proof, Reverse Proof, Enhanced Uncirculated,  and Uncirculated The medals come in a handsome U.S. Mint box with the 225th anniversary emblem on the cover of a tri-fold box accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity. The box can function like a display stand. The mintage was limit not to exceed 50,000 sets. 

Obverse: Liberty is depicted as an African-American woman, wearing a coronet of stars, designed by Justin Kunz and sculpted by Phebe Hemphill. Credit is given to both artists and the medal includes both their initials, “JK” and “PH.” 

Reverse: A bald eagle in flight designed by artist Chris T. Costello and engraved by Michael Gaudioso. The medal includes the Philadelphia P mint mark (or DS or W) as well as the initials of the artists, “CTC” and “MG.” 

Rim: Smooth edges, rather than reeded. 

Medals are not legal tender, so there is no denominational value.
