Gravy Boat French Sterling Silver Boin Taburet Paris 1880s

Antique French sterling silver small gravy boat in fluted designs with decorated borders, made by Boin-Taburet, Paris c. 1880-1900.

Boin-Taburet was established in 1873 by the antique dealer George Boin and the jeweller Emile Taburet. The firm was credited for the revival of interest in Louis XV style silver-work in Paris in the late 1880s. As well as producing exceptional silver and metal work the company retailed small items of furniture and decorative objects of the very highest order. Emile Taburet and Georges Boin worked together until 1900.

This admirable gravy boat is 5 1/2" long across the handle and the spout, 2 1/4" wide, 1 1/2" tall to the tip of the handle, weighing 61.8 grams or 1.99 ozs Troy.

The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
