Rare antique Japanese cloisonné samurai eating set. The cloisonné case has a ring to attach to the samurai’s belt. When you pull off the cover there are two faux ivory chopsticks and a long knife. The knife itself is an example of Japanese sword making skill . The knife has a faux ivory handle riveted in place. The last picture shows the openings made for the chopsticks and knife to fit in. The cloisonné is in excellent condition with no missing enamel or dents. It has obviously been used over a long period of time judging by the patina on the metal of the case and knife and the slight discoloration on the faux ivory parts. The total length is twelve and a half inches.
