Octavo, xxiii, 341pp, [3]. Period brown leather, title in gilt over black morocco label, decorative gilt rule. A complete work with 9 folding plates: 5 illustrations, 3 plans and a map of Lima, Peru. Even toning throughout, some faint transference. Free of any notations or bookplates. Reinforced hinges, repair to top edge of spine, new gilt tooled leather spine label, leather has been conditioned and stabilized. (Sabin 97102) A very good example of this scarce historical work on earthquakes. Very good.

This work was first published in Spanish, under the title "Individual y Verdadera Relacion de la extrema ruyna que padeciĆ² la Ciudad de los Reyes Lima," by Pedro Lozano (Sabin 42590). It was anonymously translated into English by Henry Johnson.
