1549 Froben Greek Anthology 1ed
Brodeau Greece Philosophy Planudean Palatine RARE
The Greek Anthology is a rare
collection of 10th-14th-century Greek poetry and epigrams
from ancient poets including Archilochus, Alcaeus, Simonides, the Palatine Anthology,
and the Planudean Anthology. This portfolio of poems has been the focus of
numerous commentaries for centuries, perhaps most notably from Jean Brodeau.
His “Epigrammatum Graecorum” has been
considered one of the best of its kind – a huge 16th-century
folio filled with the Greek poems and Latin commentary.
