A traditional ‘Mahogany’ from West Africa, closely related to the ‘True’ Mahoganies in genus Swietenia and the closest timber in appearance to Swietenia (West Indian Mahogany) Pinkish brown to red and reddish brown in color, African Mahogany often has interlocked grain on radially cut faces, so care is required when machining. Medium textured, and relatively lightweight, African Mahogany is long established as a high class joinery and furniture timber and also prized for boat building. Visual grain patterns from highly-figured character woods can add a special touch to any project. These markings are usually the result of how a tree grows and is sawn; many of them are highly sought after. A few of the most sought after are Ribbon curl, Flame and Rippled character grain.

About pictures: It is impossible to get photos exactly correct in color, we don’t wet the grain to look like when finish is added. No Color adjustments have been made. A beautiful Bespoke wood making it the perfect accent for your project.
