This is a type of pen with a safety filler that appeared around the beginning of the 20th century. The nib is ejectable, and when the end of the barrel is turned, the nib is hidden inside the barrel. When the cap is closed, the pen is sealed to prevent ink spillage. It is the only type of fountain pen that does not leak ink when shaken. Unfortunately, it has fallen into disuse over time. This listing is for a Waterman 42 model fountain pen with gold decorations. It has some noticeable imperfections (see photos) and is not flattering to say it is like new. However, it is probably in fairly clean condition, given that it is from the 1920s. The nib is an IDEAL engraved extra fine nib that flexes but is firm and firm. All of the seals have been replaced with silicone seals to ensure that there are no leaks.
