Up for sale is absolutely stunning and extremely rare lens - SOM Berthiot Paris 40mm f2.

The lens was made for vintage cine equipment with high precision and quality control. As the lens has f2 aperture and double gauss optical scheme, it seems that it belongs to the "Flor" series. However, there is no "Flor" engraving on the lens bezel, so it might be either very early sample or something different and much more rare than "Flor".

This lens is going to be true gem in any collection of the manual lenses enthusiast, as well as serious collector!

This lens was professionally CLA'd and rehoused to Leica M39 mount, so it might be used on any modern mirrorless and rangefinder cameras. The lens is covering FF sensor about 95% - please, refer to the attached pictures, where the last pictures with the wall shows dark corners on F16. Amazing FF coverage as for 35mm cine lens.

The lens has very lovely bokeh and great resolution, matching the top quality glasses, made that period of time.

Now lets talk about the condition of this lens. The lens is basically in a very good shape, especially referring to its age and rareness. The metal body of the lens has some age marks on it. The lens glasses might have some cleaning marks on them, but nothing serious. Overall the lens looks very good.

I'm pretty sure, that it will be very hard to find the same lenses in such a condition now days.
