The Revolt - 40 Years since the 1944 Revolt

Official Award Medal,

5745 -1984

On the 1st of February 1944, the High Command of the National Military Organization (The Ezel) published its announcement of revolt, declaring "War to the very end" on British rule in the Land of Israel.

Following this, the underground began an armed struggle which was to continue for four years, until the establishment of the State of Israel, and this included attacks on Government offices, police stations, military camps and airfields, among them the bomb attack on the civilian and military headquarters in the King David Hotel in Jerusalem.

The authorities reacted by imprisoning and arresting the fighters and those who supported them, expelling them from the country, imposing curfews, setting up detention camps in the towns, and even by sentencing people to death by hanging.

Obverse: The words, "40th Anniversary of the Declaration of the Revolt", the dates; 7th of Shevat 5704-1.2.1944.

Intertwined with these words is the Ezel emblem, and beneath, the Year of Valour's symbol and the words, "EZEL Congress" ("National Military Organization Congress") in Hebrew, which was held to commemorate the event.

Reverse: The words "Take up arms and fire", taken from Ezel mentor Ze'ev Jabotinsky's poem, 'Betar', and below it, the Betar emblem and the words "Israel's 35th Independence day", in Hebrew.

Edge: The Corporation's emblem, and its initials: IGCMC - in Hebrew and English, and serial number.

Designer: Ruth Lubin.

Mint: Moshe Hecht.

What you see is what you get - I did not use any stock photos for this auction.

I combine shipping!

The combined shipping policy is relevant FOR PINS, WINGS, SAMPLE SLABS, COINS, ELONGATED COINS, TOKENS, MEDALS and other SMALL ITEMS, is the full price for the auction with the highest shipping cost and then one additional dollar ($1) for each additional auction won.

Larger items will be packed, weighed, and combined as well.

If you win a few of my auctions, please ask to receive a combined invoice for everything you won.

Please note that combined shipping only applies if you make ONE SINGLE PAYMENT for all the items won!

International buyers - you must contact me before you bid to accurately determine the actual shipping cost!  eBay's standard shipping costs are ridiculously high and do not reflect the actual cost of shipping internationally!!!

Returns are not accepted, unless I make a mistake in the listing or I accidently send you the wrong item (and such mistakes do, unfortunately, happen, though seldom).

If you have ANY question - please ask ahead of the closing of the auction, and please be kind as to give me a few hours to respond.

Shipping is via the cheapest method I can find, unless you want me to ship it any other way, such as Priority USPS, UPS or FedEx. I can ship with any carrier, any way you want!

I use eBay's system to calculate the shipping cost according to your location.  Sometimes, eBay's shipping cost system is stupidly wrong and the cost is way too much.  I have no idea why, since I always enter the correct weight and dimensions of the packed item. Nevertheless, if you think the shipping cost is too high, please send me a message, tell me your zip code and what you see as the shippin cost, and I'll check to see if I can ship for less.

This item comes from a smoke-free, dog loving home. We have a beautiful dog, who loves to spread her hair on everything.  Although I do my best to clean everything that I ship out, encountering some of her lovely hair is a possibility.

I love to recycle, so there's a good chance that I will ship in a previously used envelope or box, and use paper and used grocery bags as packing and padding materials.

All of my store items have a MAKE AN OFFER option. If you make a stupid offer, I might counter with a stupid offer of my own. An offer for a few dollars less is reasonable.  An offer for half of the listed price is not serious.

Good luck bidding!
