Original Arkana 115 & 116 Maurice Burke Designed Swivel Fibreglass Tulip Chairs

2x Model 116 (with arms) and 2x Model 115 (without arms)  - designed by Maurice Burke and produced by Arkana in England in the 1960s. Four in total.

Designed by Maurice Burke for Arkana England in the 1960s. These original vintage retro Arkana chairs exemplify mid-century modernism/futurism. Swivel mechanisms all in excellent working order. The excellent ergonomic design of these mid-century classics makes them extremely comfortable for any occasion.

The chairs feature a white lacquered aluminium cross base, moulded fiberglass seat and the original orange wool seat cushion with foam core (which due to age may need reupholstering. The zips on three cushions require replacement, which would involve a trivial alteration). The chairs are on a self swivel base with feet.

Given their originality and age, the chairs have a used patina, and some recoating of the tips of the base would bring them back to outstanding condition. However, the chairs look fantastic and are a striking addition to any home. Please see all pictures.
