This is a collection with 2 photo albums, a scrapbook and a packet of typed medical notes from World War II in the early 1940’s that follows the soldiers, doctors, nurses stationed in Hawaii at the St Louis Hospital in Honolulu, the 147th general hospital in San Francisco, the Barking Sand Sector base in Hawaii and the 165th Station Hospital as well as time in the Philippines at the Culion Leper Colony.

One album has mostly photos of the soldiers, sometimes in their off time in swimsuits at the beach or hanging out together and in uniform. There are a mix of personal and military photos. Another album is a scrapbook full of menus, theater playbills and other ephemera from that time. The third album has photos of the leper colony, the lepers living there and many photos of a severely disfigured child that is quite graphic*******

Additionally there are two packets of extensive medical notes with procedures from the hospital.

It’s an incredible collection that I felt should be kept together. There are names and captions on most photos.

There are 421 photos total plus a lot of paper documents and ephemera

Please feel free to ask questions. I did my best to research this but I am not an expert. I could only get 24 photos listed but there are so many more!
