Extremely Rare French Art Nouveau 18K Solid Gold Full Body Three Dimensional Highly Detailed African Elephant Pearl Necktie Stick Pin 🐘 Fully hallmarked, three partial hallmarks on the pin itself, the top being a Mercury head, French 18K for export. Weighs approximately 6.6 grams. The weight includes the 18K solid gold content, the pearl and an adhesive between the legs to hold the pearl in place as well as the tiny remainder white enamel. The entire stick pin is approximately 6.43 cm (2  8.5/16 inches) in length from elephant back to pin point tip. The elephant motif is approximately 1.42 cm (8.8/16 of an inch) in height from elephant back to pearl bottom, with the elephant motif being approximately 1.25 cm (7.7/16 of an inch) in length (width) from furthest edge of the front trunk curve to the furthest rear behind curve edge, a serious piece of art work. The full body elephant is solid 18K gold, not that cheap hollow cast junk. White enamel on the front half has been chipped off and off the tip of the right tusk, with a couple of tiny abrasions or scratches on the elephant, with some light abrasions on the pin itself which is to be expected since its made from 18K gold that is a bit over a century old. The most beautiful solid 18K gold African elephant jewel I have ever encountered, miniature Art Nouveau sculpture at its best ! And what a price, a real bargain ! The head is slightly tilted downwards and to the left to give it that livelier feel as if the elephant was in motion. Do you love elephants as much as I do ?
