By day, Mark Hunter (Christian Slater) is a painfully shy new kid in a small Arizona town. But, by night he is "Hard Harry", the cynical, uncensored DJ of a pirate radio station who sets the airwaves alight with his fiercely funny monologues on sex, love, and rock 'n' roll. Idolised by his high-school classmates, who are unaware of his real identity, Mark's alter-ego becomes a hero, inspiring his listeners to find their own voices of rebellion and individuality. But when Mark exposes his school's corrupt principal, she calls in the authorities to shut "Hard Harry" down...
