Very Good Condition. This is an 1871 to 1873 autograph book that belonged to Mary R. DeLong of Parishville NY. Dozens of autographs of fellow Potsdam State Normal School classmate, plus autograph in Greek from "Men Who Made America" professor Henry P. Emerson, who taught Greek and Latin at Potsdam until 1874. Nearly all pages have autographs. Front cover loose, writings clear. Measures 3.25 x 5.5"


NOTES: Online info indicates Mary was born in 1850 and died Dec 25, 1877 at 27 years. She was the daughter of Norris and Charity DeLong and grand-daughter of Martin. They are all buried in Hillcrest Cemetery in Parishville, NY. Mary married Nathaniel Ketchum. Included an FYI only biography of Emerson.
