This is one of the later A1286 Unibody models and is in good cosmetic condition for its age, with some marks and a couple of minor dents on the aluminium casing. The display is excellent, bright and crisp and this is still a fast and capable laptop for general computing. It comes with a fresh install of High Sierra OS 10.13.6 on the 500GB HDD, and with a Core i7 processor it is still fairly fast. The optical drive is also working.

As you may be aware, the 2011 model had common issues with the AMD Radeon GPU, so this one has been professionally upgraded to bypass the troublesome GPU and instead use the ultra-reliable Intel HD3000 GPU, which works perfectly at the native resolution of the LCD screen. The only thing to be aware of is that this does not support an external screen via the Mini Display Port socket, so it would need an external USB graphics adapter if you needed to connect to an external screen. Otherwise, the Intel GPU uses less power, giving extended battery life and reduced internal heat, so this should last for many years yet. Please note that there is no battery fitted at present so it can only be used with a mains adapter, which is not included in the listing, but a new battery can be bought and easily fitted, unlike the later models from 2012, which have the batteries glued in place.  The A1286 is highly regarded as the last of the upgradable and repairable MacBook Pro models. It has 4GB of DDR3 RAM that can easily be upgraded to at least 8GB if required. It has just been thoroughly cleaned inside and out, so only needs a power supply and ideally a battery, both of which are readily available on eBay. If you want it with a battery, please message me if you win and I could order and fit one for you at additional cost. No original box but it will be securely packed for postage, or can be collected from Southport, Merseyside.
