An original cover for the May 26th 1860 issue of Harper’s Weekly announcing “Abram Lincoln” as the Republican Party nominee for President of the United States.

The print is in excellent condition with no age-toning, tears, holes or creases. One of the best Lincoln display engravings available.

The engraved portrait of Lincoln is based on a Mathew Brady photograph of Abraham Lincoln taken during his visit to New York City to give his famous Cooper Union speech. It is widely recognized as the photo that helped elect Abraham Lincoln as Brady’s photographic skills were used to minimize Lincoln’s physical flaws and was the main photograph that was used during the 1860 presidential campaign.
