Open Box - RME ADI-2 FS (Never Used)

Thanks to its ultra-stable femtosecond clock and impressive specs, the RME ADI-2 FS offers top-shelf AD/DA conversion. This super-versatile 2-channel unit can tackle sample rates up to 192kHz, convert between multiple digital formats, and even operate as a standalone analog preamp. You can also use the ADI-2 FS as a great-sounding headphone amplifier. Beyond that, its external switching power supply operates at a range of 9-15 volts, enabling the ADI-2 FS to be powered via a battery for mobile use. The ADI-2 FS is an exceptional multi-format AD/DA converter for engineers and audiophiles alike.

Ultra-stable SteadyClock FS technology

RME's SteadyClock has earned many accolades, by virtue of its flawless, low-jitter clocking. This technology has always been RME's secret weapon, ensuring that the internal clocks on their devices sound exactly the same as using an external one. The ADI-2 FS's SteadyClock FS takes self-jitter even lower, improving its analog PLL circuit and referencing both Direct Digital Synthesis and PLL to a low-phase-noise quartz crystal. In fact, the ADI-2 FS's self-jitter reaches levels that are usually only available in master quartz clock mode, even while running in PLL mode. Thanks to this updated circuit, the ADI-2 FS reaches jitter specs as low as a femtosecond. Just to put it in perspective, that's 1/1,000,000,000,000,000 of a second!

Near-endless functionality offers more than mere AD/DA

The RME ADI-2 FS is an incredibly versatile AD/DA converter. It functions as a top-shelf A/D converter when you send a signal into its analog inputs, able to convert your signal into S/PDIF, AES, or ADAT, then output it digitally via its S/PDIF coaxial port, ADAT optical port, or both simultaneously. It also operates as a reference-quality D/A converter when you send a signal into its digital inputs — perfect for mission-critical monitoring or audiophile listening. You can also use the ADI-2 FS as a digital format converter by feeding it a digital signal. Not only can it convert between the full gamut of digital formats — S/PDIF, AES, and ADAT — it also provides simultaneous monitoring via the unit’s D/A converter. The ADI-2 FS also functions as an analog preamp — its analog bypass mode supports levels up to +22dBu. It can also covert balanced analog signals to unbalanced signals, and vice versa. At Sweetwater, we’re blown away by the near-endless functionality offered by the ADI-2 FS.

High Power headphone output delivers top-quality sound

Searching for a high-end headphone amplifier? The ADI-2 FS delivers the goods. Its High Power headphone output is a scaled-down version of the ADI-2 Pro FS’s pristine-sounding Extreme Power output stage. Put on your favorite set of headphones, plug into the ADI-2 FS, and you’ll experience the ultimate in impact and clarity, thanks to up to 0.7 watts of power per channel, a 0.1-ohm output impedance, a +19dBu maximum output level, and a super-low -110dB of THD. To top it off, the ADI-2 FS employs a relay to ensure click-free on and off switching.
