ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) _ Federal, state and local authorities have arrested more than 5,700 people nationwide in ″the largest and most successful fugitive manhunt in law enforcement history,″ the head of the U.S. Marshals Service said today. Operation Trident resulted in the arrest of some of the most violent criminals in the country, U.S. Marshals Service Director Henry E. Hudson said at a news conference. It involved the cooperation of the Marshals Service, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and the Drug Enforcement Administration, along with state and local authorities.
