V.A. / SOULTRAIN VOL.7 (1DVDR)

Description

The "Soul Train" TV program symbolized the golden age of black music in the 1970s. This is the seventh volume of the best compilation series compiling rare performances from the rare on-air footage of the program. The lineup is once again excellent, including the Creative Source, who had a hit with a Carpenters cover before becoming a disco band; the Four Tops, who are still going strong after moving to a new band; the New Birth, a big funk band; and the legendary live performances by the JBs, Lynn Collins, Sweet Charles, and the JBs. The JB's, Lynn Collins, Sweet Charles, and the legendary JB's. Also on the bill were Stevie Wonder's ex-wife Silita, Stax's signature singer Johnny Taylor, the early Kool & the Gang with their hit tunes, the beautiful Al Wilson, Philly's own The O'Jays, and Maurice White, who was a member of The O'Jays. The O'Jays, Philly's own The O'Jays, and the Ramsey Lewis Trio, of which Maurice White was a member, make this another treasure trove of black music, this time for a total of two hours.
