Vintage brass small sized hand bell with turned wooden handle 16cm High

This bell has a turned wooden handle with a metal disc at top which I’m unsure what use this has, the bell and handle does have some wear marks so handle could be re varnished if needed

Bell diameter is 8.7 cm
