This collar is the real deal. I’m the original owner, I bought it new in the early 1980s when I worked at a pet store. This collar was on a dog mannequin in a display in our store. Because it was never used on a live animal it’s not broken-in/creased at a particular prong hole. You can’t find collars this high-quality anymore unless you have someone custom make one for you. This is genuine top-grain leather, not reconstituted leather or soft flimsy leather like the other collars you will find. Don’t be fooled by the collars out there with a rolled-over edge that hides the edge of the leather, they are hiding it from you for a reason. This collar is constructed of two pieces of stiff top-grain leather sewn back to back with a polished edge. The collar has a glossy finished surface on both sides. No makers/manufacturer's mark.
