Description

Exquisite antique Belle Epoque era French sterling silver and cut crystal sugar shaker, muffineer caster. The cut crystal body patterned with deep wheel cut fluting embellished with finely engraved foliage. The sterling silver mounts include a finely pierced domed top lid, collar and circular pedestal base. The collar finished with an ornate reticulated edge richly decorated with florals and ribbon. In good antique condition with general wear commensurate with use and age. Fully hallmarked on the lid, collar and base. Hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark indicating a silver content of .950/1000 (of 95% silver and a higher finesse than .925 sterling). Bearing maker's mark for Maker's mark for silversmith Charles Forgelot, active 1901-1928 at 4 avenue de Clichy, Paris. Stands 6" tall x 2 5/8" wide.
