This vintage BIBA carrier bag is a rare find, featuring a till receipt from 1974 stapled to the bag.   You can just make out BIBA at the top of the receipt in the distinctive Art Deco lettering: below that is the item price and amount paid and change and at the bottom can be seen the date:  in this case, 30 November 1974  and a number.  (photograph 2)  The 74 (date year) is printed at Right angles to the 30 NO (30th November) and the number in this case is 2423. (photograph 3)
The bag itself is dated March 73, presumably when the batch was made.(photograph 5)

Three fabric flower accessories are included, making this an even more unique purchase.   I think the colour was called "Horn Beam" but I am not certain.

The bag measures approximately:  12 1/2 inches:  31.5 cms by  8 1/2 inches:   21.5 cms and each flower measures approximately 5 inches: 12.5 cms across

I have had this carrier bag since 1974 when I bought the fabric flowers in the New BIBA a magical store in the old Derry and Toms' store in Kensington London.   The gold design on the  black plastic bags varied from floor to floor and, as I remember, when you paid for an item the till receipt was stapled to the bag and you were given another receipt with the same number on it and when you left the particular floor where you'd made a purchase, this was checked  along with the receipt stapled on the bag by what seemed a huge door man.
