Germination is variable with these seeds, so I will ensure to provide more than 50 seeds in your package.
For germination, you should research some specific steps to improve viability:
1) Scarification is usually necessary. Gentlly "scar" the seeds with a sharp blade or rough them up with sandpaper.
2) Soak for 24 hours in regular, warm temperature water. This will soften the seed coat. (If you have filtered or treated water in your home, be sure to use the outside "hose" water. In nature, these seeds are 'fire shocked" to remove an outer coating.
3) Plant directly in pre-wettened potting mix or well draining soil. Do not over water. Place about 1/4" depth.
4) Gently moist the upper soil with a spray bottle. Do not use a hose or heavy water, or you may misplace the seeds.
5) You might see some seedlings as soon as 2-4 weeks to germinate (depending on soil and light conditions); and sometimes as long as a full season or year. Hard to guess with these guys.
