Here we have a further set of 5 high quality painted porcelain figures of theatrical characters. Some have the character name to the base although a couple are hard to read.
These all have blue cross marks and would have been made by Samson of Paris circa late 19th century.
These super figures are very scarce and are rarely seen as a set. We have 11 in total and would consider an offer on the whole set.
Most do have small faults as follows (from left to right in main photo):
1) Miole? - chip to watch and 3 missing fingers
2) Scapin - tiny chip to coattail only
3) Man holding cloth - tiny chip to tassle on arm only
4) Bafile - some black paint flaking and tiny chip to base
5) Matador - loss to finger and thumb only
These measure circa 17 cm high.
