This banknote celebrates the invincibility of the Ukrainian people in their struggle for freedom and European values, the consolidation of Ukrainian society to protect Ukraine’s territorial integrity, and the unity of the democratic world in the face of russian aggression. This 50-hryvnia banknote, which was designed in 2024, bears the signature of Andriy Pyshnyy, the governor of the National Bank of Ukraine. It has the series ЄС, with serial numbers from 0000001 to 0300000. The banknote has security features that are incorporated in currently circulating banknotes and additional optically variable security features. The issue numbers are 300,000 [of which 299,952 are in souvenir packaging, two uncut sheets (one sheet contains 24 banknotes)].

The front of the note, in the center, features a composition that depicts a stylized outline of Ukraine, which resembles a heart connected to blood vessels. In the background is a girl wearing a military helmet and looking towards the West. At the bottom of the note, against the background of the globe, is a stylized image of Europe, from whose countries the vessels that stand for aid and support for Ukraine seem to be branching off. The stylized hearts placed between the vessels symbolize sacrifice and compassion. In the center of the top of the note is the watermark. To the right of the watermark are a see-through register (stylized shoulder patch of Ukraine’s Armed Forces) and a feature for the partially sighted (a circle made in relief). To the left of the watermark are the legend УКРАЇНА (Ukraine) and Ukraine’s small coat of arms. Under the watermark, on both sides, there is a stylized composition consisting of filled and outlined squares (the central squares indicate the denomination of the note), and a translucent stripe bearing the outlines of the logo of the National Bank of Ukraine. Under the strip, in the center of the note is the legend ЄДНІСТЬ РЯТУЄ СВІТ (Unity Saves the World); on the left of the note is the following text in Ukrainian: ЄДНІСТЬ / І СОЛІДАРНІСТЬ / З УКРАЇНСЬКИМ НАРОДОМ / НАБЛИЖАЮТЬ / ПЕРЕМОГУ УКРАЇНИ / В БОРОТЬБІ ПРОТИ / РОСІЙСЬКОГО АГРЕСОРА / ТА РЯТУЮТЬ СВІТ ВІД ХАОСУ / ТА МОРОКУ НАСИЛЛЯ.; on the right of the note is the same text in English: UNITY AND SOLIDARITY / WITH THE UKRAINIAN PEOPLE / ARE BRINGING CLOSER / UKRAINE’S VICTORY / IN THE FIGHT AGAINST / THE RUSSIAN AGGRESSOR, / AND ARE SAVING THE WORLD / FROM THE CHAOS / AND DARKNESS / OF VIOLENCE.; the vertical legend НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (the National Bank of Ukraine), the signature of the NBU Governor and the legend ГОЛОВА (governor) are in the left bottom part of the note; the legend П’ЯТДЕСЯТ ГРИВЕНЬ (fifty hryvnias) is in the bottom central part of the note. The numerical indication of the denomination is placed horizontally in the bottom right corner of the note. The front of the note has other design elements, which are made with multicolor printing.

The main image on the back of the note is a symbolic composition of clasped hands, symbolizing cooperation, mutual assistance, trust and partnership, against the background of a stylized trident, the symbol of the Ukrainian state. At the top of the note is a stylized image of the numerical indication of the denomination made as a guilloche pattern. The legend П’ЯТДЕСЯТ / ГРИВЕНЬ (fifty / hryvnias) is placed vertically in the top right part of the note and horizontally in the central bottom part of the note. The numerical indication of the denomination 50 is depicted horizontally in the top right corner of the note and vertically (together with the graphic symbol of the hryvnia) in the left bottom part of the note. At the top, in the center, is the legend ЄДНІСТЬ – СИЛА! (In Unity, Strength!) At the bottom is the note’s issue year – 2024. The serial number is printed twice: horizontally in the direction of reading (with the numbers having a variable height) in red ink along the top long side of the note and vertically in black ink along the left side of the note.
