My husband's granddad left us his collection of vintage southwestern belt buckles.

He passed away in 2005.

I believe he purchased this belt buckle in the 1970s or 1980s.

***PLEASE NOTE THIS IS MISSING ONE OF THE THREE PRONGS
THAT HOLDS THE CABOCHON ONTO THE BELT BUCKLE,
THERE ARE 3 OUT OF 4 PRONG HOLDERS REMAINING.
PLEASE SEE PICTURES***

I am not an expert on jewelry or belt buckles.

This belt buckle does not have a stamp so I am unsure what type of metal it is.

This belt buckle has a beautiful, brownish-red and cream-colored cabochon/ stone
which my experienced rockhound friend has identified as Mookaite Jasper.

The motif is Southwestern with some lovely flowers.

I believe this belt buckle to be Navajo based on my online research,
but it could be of a different tribal affiliation.

I am not an expert.
