This week we are offering Joanies “Great Estates” multi-week spring estate auction sales. This group of auctions features an amazing array of fresh to market hand picked treasures. The sales will span over the next few weeks starting with three days of Asian arts, followed by a sale of important works of art, silver, bronzes, porcelain, glass, two to three days of fine estate jewelry, and many other fine objects of virtue to numerous to mention!

We have saved up a great array of choice examples from important estate collections. The main portion of the collection came for a prominent Le Chateau Montreal family collection we have been offering over the past months. The family has now asked us to clear out their parents (packed full) Laurentian’s chalet. The vast majority of items were acquired by the parents 40-70 years ago, with many others being earlier family heirlooms. The family has indicated their parents were good friends of Alex Gurie of the famed Gurie Gallery, Montreal, and that many of the Asian arts examples were acquired from Gurie during the 1960 to 70s. This is surely one of the most impressive and large estates we have dealt with in over 20 years of offering estate items here on eBay. The vase is a nice large size example for displaying. The vase has vibrant famille rose and turquoise enamel designs. The vase is ornately decorated throughout and has two large figural landscape panels. The vase has encrusted fu lion handles, along with encrusted dragons surrounding the vase shoulders. The top inner rim is also decorated and has a floral fluted form with gilt features. We believe such examples are being much harder to come by, mostly in this nice of condition. This great vase is being offered Without Reserve!

Condition: Estate-fresh, minor kiln flaw to the base rim as seen in the images. Other minor nicks, glaze imperfections and very minor wear consistent with the vases age. Overall very good with no cracks and no repairs. UV light reveals no hidden damage. In our opinion of investment-grade condition considering the vase's 150 year old age.

Size: 17 3/4 inches tall x 8 inches wide.
