Very nice copy of the rare original 1961 pressing of the Rhapsodies LP featuring Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2, and Enesco’s Roumanian Rhapsody No. 1, conducted by Leopold Stokowski on RCA Living Stereo LSC-2471. Original shaded dog labels and 5S/6S stamps. Also has the rare hype sticker, describing Stokowski as the Merlin of Orchestral Witchery. Indeed this is one of the all time great orchestral recordings ever made, and is widely considered an audiophile masterpiece.

I have the disc graded at VG+, as it has a number of visible scuffs, but really it plays just about NM, flawlessly and truly beautifully. I don’t hear a single pop or tick anywhere. The quiet parts are quiet as a new copy, and it sounds simply spectacular. There are a few lines, though, so I can’t actually call it NM, but it plays like it is. All the marks are entirely superficial. The cover has a bit of edgewear, mainly at the spine, and light ringwear and general signs of handling. Still no seam splits and quite presentable. This is a beautiful copy despite any flaws. And it sounds absolutely glorious.
