Here we have a letter from legendary TV producer William "Bill" Todman from 1955. Todman is known to game show viewers as half of the Goodson-Todman Productions company. Remember hearing "This has been A Mark Goodson — Bill Todman Production"? In 2011, Todman was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame.

With Mark Goodson, Todman produced some of the longest-running game shows in television history -- some of which are still being produced today. They include Beat the Clock, Card Sharks, Family Feud, Match Game, Password, Tattletales, The Price Is Right, To Tell the Truth, and What's My Line?.

The letter was written by Todman, on Goodson-Todman stationary, as he passes along a script that had been sent to him, in case the associate could do something with it. The script, made up of carbon copies on thin paper, is for a play written by A. Sestero and titled The Double Wedding. Both the letter and the play manuscript are included here.

These items come from the archives of character actor Allan Melvin (Bilko, Brady Bunch, All in the Family, Archie Bunker's Place, Magilla Gorilla). I am not sure of how they came to be in his possession.
